The Reality of Feedback for Women

The feedback women receive in leadership often feels more like labels—“difficult,” “too opinionated”—rather than constructive advice.

I’ve experienced this firsthand, being given “friendly” yet limiting feedback that serves little to no purpose. We deserve feedback that grows us, not boxes us in.

How can we ensure that the conversation shifts from unhelpful criticism to meaningful development?

I’ve been raising funds in my community, recently securing a bus to help remote villagers reach the Dereham Meeting Point Centre, Yet, I’ve faced some feedback, like “Where is this money really coming from” comments “Who does she think she is?” It’s a stark reminder: when women lead with conviction and purpose, some may feel threatened. But I say never dim your brilliance for others' comfort. Our time is now. Have you faced this? Let’s rise together—unapologetically.
