The golden period of opportunity

As I talk to family, mutual mentees, volunteers, NHS staff, etc I've captured an insight...it's officially I think the golden period of opportunity for different age groups to willingly learn from each other!Over 70’s who experienced WWII and its aftermath are lockdown champions! From the magnificent Captain Tom raising £30M PLUS for the NHS, to my own Mum stoically making the best of every day - no complaining, just resourceful and cheerful. How bad is it compared to the 1940s and 50s?Yet our younger gen seem to be facing a spike in mental health issues, with reports claiming 44% of those struggling the most are 18 to 25. Issues of loneliness, questions of their effectiveness, loss of control towards leaders, plus a loss of hope for the lives they had before and really enjoyed! But this isn’t my point today. I see some great inclusion and diversity learnings here! Those of us older learning about new tech (i.e. Mum’s multi-channel birthday VC that Gemma our youngest helped with) and powerful secure clouds that allow us to live stream many great events (live performances on BBC Arts and IBM’s Think Digital next week!). Also, the “take each day as it comes” mantra I see many embracing!
