Trust

I believe it's so critical right now with the convergence of new technologies, global pandemic, a deep crisis of inclusion + Black Lives Matter, and climate change issues, to create a culture of trust. As highlighted in this article about the neuroscience of trust (https://lnkd.in/gunhmGn) I think we need to do 3 things:1. Recognise and herald excellence whenever we can!“Neuroscience shows that recognition has the largest effect on trust when it occurs immediately after a goal has been met, when it comes from peers, and when it’s tangible, unexpected, personal, and public”.2. Give employees discretion in how they do their workOnce employees have been trained, allow them, whenever possible, to manage people, and execute projects in their own way.3. Share information broadly and beautifullyOnly 40% of employees report that they are well informed about their company’s goals, strategies, and tactics. Uncertainty about the company’s direction leads to chronic stress, and undermines teamwork. Openness is the antidote. On this important topic, I also recommend watching 'The Speed of Trust' by Stephen R Covey: https://lnkd.in/gEhj-nJI hope this sketchnote helps shape your next steps.
