Tandem Adventures: Gravel Roads, RV Living, and Conquering the Palmetto Trail

Riding Jack Gyan Koo was an experience like no other. Unlike our usual tarmac adventures, the Palmetto Trail threw everything at us—gravel paths, forest tracks, and stretches that made us wonder if we’d wandered off-route entirely! Riding off-road was both a thrill and a challenge. The bumps, twists, and unpredictable terrain tested our coordination and patience but also made every mile more rewarding.

Gravel Tandeming: Trust and Teamwork

Gravel tandeming requires a different kind of teamwork. It’s not just about staying in sync; it’s about trusting each other completely when the path gets tricky. There were moments when I thought we’d tip over, but somehow, we always found our rhythm—laughing (and occasionally swearing) through the wobbly bits.

The Palmetto Trail: Gravel, Grit, and Gratitude

The Palmetto Trail itself was breathtaking. Its diversity, from shaded forest paths to sprawling open landscapes, kept every ride exciting. The off-road sections were particularly memorable—challenging, yes, but also some of the most beautiful. There’s something special about riding on gravel and forest root trails, where every mile feels earned and every view feels like a reward.

The Journey in Moments

The best part? It wasn’t just about the ride. Watching the sunrise over misty trails, sharing a laugh after nearly getting stuck in a gravel rut, and arriving at our destination to celebrate Thanksgiving with friends—those are the moments that made it unforgettable.
