My 6 Life & leadership Lessons for Success
During my speech on the 12th of September, I shared a few little gems that have guided me throughout my career. These six life & leadership lessons have shaped who I am today, and I hope they can serve as A guide or inspiration for others, particularly women, as we continue to push for success in leadership and beyond. Here’s a preview of what i shared:
⭐️Put Up Your Hand and Volunteer
Opportunities often come disguised as extra work or stepping into the unknown. Some of my best experiences have come from simply raising my hand and saying “I’ll do it.” Whether it’s taking on a new project or handling a challenge others shy away from, putting yourself out there opens doors.
⭐️100% of the Shots You Don’t Take Won’t Go In
You can’t succeed if you don’t try. Even if there’s a risk of failure, you’ll never know what you’re capable of unless you take that shot. What’s the worst that can happen?
⭐️Always Be Learning
In a constantly evolving world, staying curious and committed to learning is essential. You don’t have to master everything, but having a personal learning strategy is crucial. Whether through reading, taking courses, or learning on the job, never stop developing yourself.
⭐️People Will Remember How You Made Them Feel
Inspired by Maya Angelou’s wisdom, this is a key lesson I live by. People won’t always remember what you said or did, but they will remember how you made them feel. Empathy, kindness, and respect go a long way in building lasting relationships and trust.
⭐️Be in the Right Place at the Right Time
Timing matters. Being prepared and present when the right opportunity comes along can change everything. Stay focused and ready for those moments.
⭐️Grit, Grace, and Joy
For me, success is a balance of grit, grace, and joy. Grit is about persistence and resilience. Grace is about treating others with empathy and respect. And joy is the part that makes it all worthwhile. Find joy in what you do, and it will keep you going.
What lessons do you live by? Let’s continue the conversation.
